As well as acting, I have also worked as a musician and composer for a variety of productions from stage to screen.
For Theatre Space NE's Plays in the Park, I was employed as both an actor and MD, providing a medieval underscoring for the battles of Henry V to country-western ballads and bluesy interludes in A Comedy of Errors. I also went on tour with the company later that year with their take on A Christmas Carol providing an original dark folk soundtrack which "which helped evoke the Victorian era" (North East Theatre Guide).
My instrument list includes Accordion, Bagpipes, Bass Guitar, Bass-Baritone Vocals, Choral Singing, Keyboard, Melodica, Penny Whistle, Piano and Ukulele. I have utilised this multi-instrumentalism in a multitude of productions and have always found it to add energy, joy and variety to a show.
Recently, I worked with Kitchen Zoo in providing music for their co-commision with ARC Stockton and Queens Hall Hexham called Bumbling About, a series of educational videos for 3-7 year olds on all things bee related!!
